Dipped My Third Leg Canes
NOTE: Hydrodipping is without a doubt a great way to finish a cane and I am happy to take care of this process for you, however the cost of this process had more than doubled in less than two years. Add to that the shipping costs of sending it to and from the provider of this service, makes it very expensive. On top of that I add an additional 5% to the cost. My suggestion is for you to order a “Raw Cane” and send it to a company in your area that does hydrodipping (water transfer printing). You will save yourself a lot of money. If you are willing to pay the extra amount, I am happy to place your order.
Make your cane stand out from the crowd by ordering a dipped cane. All the benefits of My Third Leg’s strong polycarbonate cane in your favorite patterns and colors.
Dipped canes, also known as Hydrographics or Water Transfer Printing is a method of applying printed designs to three-dimensional objects. The cane to be printed on is pre-treated and a colored base coat is applied. The base coat is usually a pigmented paint. A plastic film similar to plastic wrap comes with a graphic image printed on it. The image to be transferred onto the cane is then floated on the surface of a vat of water. An activator chemical is sprayed on the film to dissolve the base, leaving just the ink and activate a bonding agent. The cane is then lowered into the vat, through the floating ink layer, which wraps around and adheres to the cane. After removing the cane from the water, it is thoroughly dried before applying a top clear coat to protect the design.
There are over one hundred patterns available for a customer to choose from. Although Bob does have some dipped canes in stock, there are too many to have each pattern. Once the cane and the desired pattern is ordered, it would take about five weeks to fill that particular order. Some of the most popular patterns are flames, skulls, digital camouflage, Mossy Oak, Real Tree, snake skin, flowers, wood grain, carbon fiber and many many more.
